I honestly don’t know what to call this style….Circus Lolly? When I read about the closing of Crimson Shadow, I was sad I must admit but my ears perked up when I heard the word sale and they perked up again when I heard that Carnival of Doom was also having a sale. 50 L for dresses. Each of these pieces were 50L..

I knew I would have to find the perfect location to shoot pics of this outfit or I would end up looking perfectly ridiculous so I returned to a sim I have photographed before, Crucible. This amazing build has many odd corners and out of the way places to explore.

I had lots of fun playing around with the windlight settings. Shoot me, I had to use a facelamp…(only on this shot though.)

These great boots are from Sn@tch because everyone needs at least one pair of killer stompers. I managed to pick up a number of Dresses, a Corset Thingy and an Evil Avatar…

There have been many instances where I’ll create something for Second Life and wished that it existed in real life. I’ve also over heard people in the store say things like “I would totally wear that in real life” or “I want this for my real life” and I thought why not. This is something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while and now seemed as good a time as any.

So last week I bought a mannequin and got together with my mom to start recreating some of the clothing from my SL brand. I plan to have a selection of the garments manufactured. They will be sold under the House of London brand. I will be offering pre orders as inventory will be limited. I’m shooting for a mid to end of August shipping date. The search for Miss Bliss Couture 2010 has begun! Entries will be accepted until July 30th so all interested models should quickly apply. We are calling every beautiful model and every classy woman who adores Bliss Couture clothing. Many women would love to be the “Face” of Bliss Couture and wear the title of Miss Bliss Couture 2010, are you one of them? Only ONE will be chosen as Miss Bliss Couture 2010 and that lucky lady will appear in most vendor ads for new clothing and will exclusively be the model in all print advertising for magazines and other media. Miss Bliss Couture will be given priority for all modeling jobs available, only being replaced in the event of her being unavailable. Miss Bliss Couture will be awarded a specially designed diamond jewelry set from Alyssa Bijoux. She will also be given all future Bliss Couture releases throughout her one year reign, $10,000L Cash Prize, and of course the title of Miss Bliss 2010. The winner will also receive an invitation to the prestigious Boulevard Agency and an interview for BOSL Magazine. With prizes like these who would not want to be part of a contest of this magnitude?

Miss Bliss Couture 2010 is a multi level competition based on photos, live modeling and objective judging. There will be no voting from friends the competitors will only be judged by the distinguished panel of judges chosen for the event. The rules to the contest are as followed:

Step 1 – Join “THE BEST OF SL Magazine Readers” Group. All notices and results will be announced in this group only. All contestants also, have to join the Bliss Couture In-world Group to be part of this contest.

Step 2 – Models will submit photos of themselves wearing a dress or outfit from Bliss Couture. One full body and one headshot 512 X 512 (FULL PERM) each. Full body photos will be judged on styling, while headshots will judged based on the visual appeal of the model. Please send your entry in a folder (not a notecard) to Caymon Zhora. Label your entry MISS BLISS COUTURE 2010 (YOUR NAME).

Step 3 – 100 girls will be selected from these entries for a live audition callback. Models should again wear a Bliss Couture dress or outfit and style themselves in a way they believe represents the image of Bliss Couture. The live audition will include a runway walk and will take place over 2 live audition times so all girls will have a chance to be seen.

Step 4 – The pool will be narrowed down to 20 models from the live audition. Since the winner of the competition will be working closely with designer Amutey DeCuir, it is important that the girl herself show signs of reliability and be personable. An interview will be scheduled for each girl to gauge for compatibility between model and designer.

Step 5 – The pool of 20 will be narrowed down to 10. The 10 finalists will all have a photoshoot wearing the same dress provided to them by Bliss Couture. These photos by a professional photographer will be judged by a panel and will determine the top 5.

I am so sick and tired of this constantly changing weather. Where did those sunny summer days go? I decided to brighten my days with some green and went on a trip to my beloved Stitch by Stitch. One of the most talented and creative designers on the grid, Sevenstar Amat created lots of springy and summery fashions for women together with accessories and shoes. Satin Cool

In one of those “ain’t it a small grid” days, I found out through a back channel that one of my modeling cronies and her partner were opening up a new sim today and kicking off with a massive day of fashion aboard the Steam Ship Serenade with three shows back to back to back. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the first two, but before I talk about that, you really need to see the amazing build that is Molto Sete and the Steam Ship Serenade.

The build itself is a cruise ship anchored in the lagoon of a pair of islands. The setting is idyllic and the place is crammed with things to do – like shopping, surfing, fishing, and even a romantic overlook.

The ship itself is a great build as well.

On the top deck is a fabulous pool that’s got floats, pose balls, and lots of places to sit out and enjoy the sun and company.

And if you really like it, there are staterooms for rent so you can live there. I’m not sure how many of them there are, but at 450L a week for 100prims it’s a pretty nice deal.

I didn’t discover everything that was aboard, but I did manage to find the theatre.

And, then, of course, no model could build a ship without having a runway.

It was this runway that attracted my attention this morning. At 9am, Ghost Trefoil and the Serenade Supermodels put on a great display of SF Designs current line. From the Performance Suit modeled delightfully by a pair of models through dresses and tuxes, costumes and casual, the models did a great job for a large crowd that included Swaffette herself in the audience. At noon, one of the only “men only” shows I’ve ever seen went off, apparently without a hitch. Ghost did a wonderful job of calling a show of Sartoria’s men’s wear that included several pieces that I’d never seen before. The final cardigan, modeled very nicely by Apollo Call, was matched with a nice ensemble of jeans and sneakers that put the sweater in perfect context. The audience wasn’t as large for this noon show, but they were very enthusiastic and in a surprise appearance traveller Bade showed up at the back of the venue.

I managed to snag a couple of pictures, but with a bad connection, they didn’t come out very well.

For me, it was a great day getting to meet swaffette Firefly and traveller Bade in the same day, in the same venue. I’ve long admired both of these designers’ work and to get to actually meet them in the avatar, that was something.

Unfortunately, real life kept me off the grid for the 2pm showcase of new designers but I have no doubt that the show went off marvelously, showing off the work of Alair Cortes of Pocket Mirrors, LadyCatherine Fairey designer from Butterfly EffectZ, and AprilR1 Braveheart of The Rose Collection (TRC) — names that might well become as famous as SF Designs and Sartoria. Ghost Trefoil has demonstrated a rare ability to collect skilled and talented people around her and I expect that shows aboard the Serenade will become hugely popular events in the future.

After all that swimming and posing in the sun, I thought something cool and satiny was in order last night, and the newest release from Insolence was certainly the right choice.

Caroline came out almost a month ago and has been languishing in my “to blog” folder since then, I am ashamed to say.  But, I finally got around to putting this set on, and–no surprise–it is gorgeous.  The texture on this set is lovely; it looks very cool and satiny…like you could reach out and feel the satiny smoothness. 

The outfit comes with three pieces; these super cute panties and then a bra and camisole top.  The camisole has a prim ruffle you can attach for a bit more femininity.  Oh, and it comes in six lovely colors; I’m wearing the blue set here.  Caroline is a classic lingerie set, very feminine and soft but still luxurious and sexy. I added some pearls, because really…can you get more classic and luxurious than a strand of pearls?  Of course, being me I had to have the broken pearls from Caroline’s Jewelry because they are just too fun.

For poses, I’m using one of the newer releases at Lost Angel, the Modern Puff in Grey.  The hair is Nico, by Maitreya in Caramel and the skin is Shiloh(Honey) in Nosferatu by ::Exodi::.

So I can show off another Modern Gypsy outfit. Seriously, I know this is the third in as many days, but I love them and didn’t really pay attention when shooting. With this one, I love the new silhouette he is creating. It’s so much fun to see people working with sculpties to give our clothing more options as far as fit and shape. This loosly fitting shift dress is a wonderful demonstration of how sculpties are changing SL fashion.

You know I love the system skirt for sexy sleekness, but I really like how this builds off the system skirt to create a straight skirt that is not skin tight, but still straight and fitted. The bell sleeves are entrancing and a much better solution that flexis.  I added GLAM tights (still closed for reconstruction) and shoes from AdamNEve where you can find the best shoe colors.

The stunning assymetrical cut is from Exile and the lovely gold pearl jewelry is from an upcoming release from HaysUriza. The skin is Rockberry – the lovely Uma, now with freckles.
